Yes. Metal chains, rings, and watches heat up very quickly in a traditional wood-fired sauna and can cause burns. Please remove all jewellery before entering.
-
Strictly no. Alcohol and saunas are a dangerous combination. Anyone appearing intoxicated will be turned away without a refund.
-
No, please leave this to your sauna host.
-
You get full use of our beautiful wood-fired sauna, cold plunge, cold shower, and the surrounding nature. A typical cycle is 10 - 15 minutes of heat, followed by a cold plunge or shower, and a period of resting in the fresh air before repeating. Always listen to your body and take it at your own pace.
-
Our Harvia wood-burning stove keeps the sauna hot between 70 – 90 degrees. We are completely off-grid using natural borehole water, which means we do not artificially chill the plunge. The water temperature is dictated by nature and will fluctuate with the seasons, getting very cold over the winter months.
-
Contrast therapy (alternating between intense heat and cold) is excellent for stress relief and cardiovascular health. The cold water stimulates the immune system, increases brain function and resilience, while the deep heat aids muscle recovery, flushes out toxins, and promotes deep relaxation.
-
Sauna Mökki is a place to disconnect. Please leave mobile phones in your bag, keep voices low to respect others' peace during communal sessions, and always close the sauna door quickly behind you to keep the löyly (steam and heat) inside.
-
We are fully off-grid, so please bring whatever hydration or snacks you need for your post-sauna recovery.
